Committees
The GISD Board uses an active committee system, and many hours are spent outside of regular Board Meetings studying proposals and weighing the pros and cons of a given issue before it is ever brought to the full Board.
The Finance Committee is responsible for reviewing budget proposals and any issues that require district funds, such as insurance policies, bids for equipment, etc.
The Facilities Committee oversees construction/renovation projects being undertaken by the district, reviewing bid proposals and helping administration to make appropriate decisions when cuts need to be made on a given project.
The District Affairs committee meets as needed to review issues that the district is facing.
