As per Board Policy GKB (Local) school facilities shall not be used to advertise, promote, sell tickets, or collect funds for any nonschool-related purpose.
The Garland ISD reserves the right to limit the distribution of printed materials by non-school entities and individuals to students and employees.
In an ongoing effort to better serve the students and patrons of the Garland ISD, a new process has replaced flyers in the schools and streamlines the procedures required to make informational notices more readily available to our students. As part of the district's "green" efforts, this online submission form and posting will eliminate the amount of paper passing through our buildings.
Please plan ahead for this new process. Physical flyers will no longer be distributed through the building.
Instead, informational notices for your event, camp or program will be posted on the GISD website, along with an organization's contact information and a direct link to your website. If particular entities prefer, they may purchase a mailing list of available student names by calling Lynda Hysaw at 972-487-3041.
As in the past, each campus Principal still has the option to allow a flyer to be placed on a table or counter, on a bulletin board, or in a common area of the campus. Principals may also allow entities to temporarily post signs outside the building.
