Agriculture, Food and Natural Sciences

Garland ISD: CTE Agriculture Cluster

This cluster focuses on water, air, food, and land. Animal projects teach students about real-life responsibility, money management, dedication, and compassion. Facilities for boarding animals are available at the Agriculture Science Training Center. Animals are shown at major livestock shows such as the State Fair of Texas and the Fort Worth Stock Show. GISD also has a local competition and auction livestock show held at the end of March each year at the Curtis Culwell Center.

The Horticulture program includes a lab, classroom, and greenhouse. Additional landscaping experiences are provided in various district activities as well as at the campus at NFHS. Poinsettias are grown by the students every year for holiday distribution. The floral program provides students opportunities to learn about design and distribution.
