Agricultural Science & Technology
In Garland ISD, students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of Agricultural Science and Technology courses including animal science, plant science and agricultural mechanics.
The program is designed to develop competencies needed by high school students preparing to enter agribusiness careers. Agricultural Science and Technology is only offered at Garland High School , South Garland High School and Naaman Forest High School .
The traditional agricultural science programs offered at Garland High School and South Garland High School focuses on animal science, agricultural mechanics, metal fabrication technology, wildlife and recreation management and home maintenance and improvement. Our award-winning Horticulture program at Naaman Forest High School provides students an opportunity to learn about plant production, plant tissue culture, landscape design, floral design and related career opportunities.
FFA activities are an integral part of the Agricultural Science and Technology program. Opportunities for developing skills in leadership, cooperation, and citizenship are provided through membership and participation in this student leadership organization.
