Keyboarding

Do you type with one finger? Do you have to look at the keyboard in order to hit the right keys? Are you a slow typist? If you answered yes to any of these questions then this is the right class for you. We will show you how to improve your keyboarding technique and speed.

Introduction to Microsoft Office and the Internet

This course is for individuals who already have some basic experience using the computer and feel comfortable using theMouse Image mouse. It will be held in a friendly environment, and it will cover the basics of Microsoft Word and Excel (XP version), Windows XP, and the Internet.

The Windows portion will cover menus, toolbars, commands, shortcuts, and methods to organize, save, and retrieve files efficiently. In Word, you will learn how formatting and editing techniques produce attractive and useful documents. Learning Excel will allow you to compute many mathematical calculations quickly and accurately. Yes, it really can be easy and your checkbook can balance every time!

Since the Internet is becoming such an important tool in the home and in the business world, navigation of the web will be covered. This course will also cover timesaving techniques and show you ways to increase your safety on the Internet, how to use email, search, and copy and paste graphics and text from the Internet into Microsoft Office documents. In addition to working in Office 2003, we will preview the new Office 2007 so that you will be familiar with the changes in this latest version.

Advanced Microsoft Office

In this class we will learn to do advanced tasks in Office, such as mail merge in Word and advanced functions and charting in Excel. We will also look at the new version, Office 2007, so that you will be ready for the changes it brings. If you have a particular task you are interested in learning, bring it with you.

Photo & Graphic Editing

Would you like to learn how to use a digital camera, scanner, and photo editing software such as Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro?

This is a chance to learn to use the equipment you may already have or try it and decide if you want to purchase it. We will take photos with different digital cameras, scan pictures you already have using the scanner, crop them, lighten, brighten or darken them, or take out parts of the picture you wish to delete.

We can also soften and eliminate wrinkles and imperfections, and make red or glowing eyes look normal again on people and pets. Also included are instructions on how to format picture files if you want to email them or upload them onto a web page or site.
