Foreign Language Classes

Spanish for Beginners I

This course is geared toward those who have NO experience in the language. This class will cover basic vocabulary such as letter sounds, greetings, numbers, colors, food, and clothing. This class is designed to offer an introduction to the study of the Spanish language in a relaxed atmosphere. The goal of the class is to become familiar with a variety of vocabulary and have fun in the process. There is no book required for the class.

Mondays & Wednesdays, March 31 – May 21
(No class on April 14)

Spanish for Beginners II

This course is geared toward those who have a little experience in the language and who would like to work with the basic vocabulary they have been exposed to. Stories, songs, and video clips will be used to help further the study of the language. The goal of the class is to start producing the language and to be able to use simple words and phrases in a variety of contexts and have fun in the process. There is no book required for the class.

Tuesdays & Thursdays, March 25 – May 22
(No class on April 1, April 8, May 6 & May 15)
6 – 7:30 pm

Fee: $50

French

This course will teach basic communication in French, namely how to introduce yourself, to ask for direction, to order food in a restaurant, to say the dates and the times, to talk about the weather and the season, to express feelings and emotions, etc.

It will also be a forum for understanding the French culture and interacting with other cultures to achieve an understanding and mastering of that language and culture.
