2010 High School Band Audition Music
for All Garland ISD Schools
The Garland ISD High School Band Audition process will consist of the same music for all seven high schools. Each school will conduct auditions at their own location and/or at their selected middle schools. Band websites may contain additional information.
SCALES: Ninth grade All Region Scales will be used for our audition. Prepare all of these scales including the chromatic. Each high school will select scales for their audition. Select a tempo that provides the best technique and accuracy. Special attention should be given to articulation.

ETUDE: The district audition etude is designed to be played by all instruments. Slight changes may occur in some instruments. Make certain you are playing the correct etude for your instrument. Play as close to the prescribed tempo as possible.
Special Note for Percussion: Percussionists should contact their HS for concert and drumline auditions. You must perform the band audition in addition to whatever is required for drum line auditions. If your high school does not have drum line information listed, please contact them concerning drum line auditions.
