4x4: Academic Intervention Program

Students who are in critical need of credits or at risk of not graduating on time. Priority will be given to seniors, juniors and over aged students regardless of their grade level. Specific criteria must be met in order to be eligible for the Academic Intervention Program. Please contact a high school campus counselor for additional details. Principal and counselor approval required.

When:

teacher assistant students at computerTimeframe for course completion will vary but will be limited to a maximum of a traditional school term appropriate for the course in which they are enrolled. The Academic Intervention Program is facilitated by highly qualified teachers with a focus on TEKS for the respective core subject teaching areas (English, math, science and social studies). These courses will be delivered using online instructional technology. Students receive course credit as they demonstrate academic proficiency with respect to the specific course that they enrolled.

Credit Recovery – When a student does not receive credit for a course the first time the student takes the course, the student will need to “recover” the necessary credit, especially if the course is required for graduation.

 

Original Credit – When a student enrolls in a course for the first time. This is often called “original credit.”
