4x4: Academic Advancement Program

Ideal candidates for this program must be self-motivated and possess strong computer literacy and reading skills. Students invest additional time/effort outside of the school day and must have computer access. Due to the schedule restrictions imposed by the new 4x4 legislation, the Advancement Program may benefit students who will need additional opportunities to meet graduation requirements. Caution should be exercised by students who have struggled in these content areas in traditional classroom settings.

The Academic Advancement Program will be taught in an online format and ONLY offered outside of the regular school day. It is designed for original (first time) credit. The Academic Advancement Program is facilitated by highly qualified teachers utilizing online instructional technology. Students receive course credit as they demonstrate academic proficiency with respect to the specific course that they enrolled. Timeframe for course completion will vary but will be limited to a maximum of a traditional school term appropriate for the course in which they are enrolled.

 

Where:

All high school campuses will offer courses. Depending on enrollment, courses may not be located at the students’ home campus. Students will be required to meet periodically with the teacher of the course.
