Family Engagement

Garland ISD has a full-time facilitator for Family Enrichment. Following are just a few of the seminars available to groups or companies.

There is also an extensive "lending library" of parenting videos available for checkout at the Family Enrichment office in the Harris Hill Administration Building, located at 501 South Jupiter in Garland.

Four With More

A four week workshop (each session lasting approximately one and a half hours each) offered at various locations by a trained facilitator. Attendance is open to anyone interested in improving their parenting skills.

Let's bring positive parenting into the workplace! The GISD Family Enrichment Facilitator is available to present seminars of interest to working parents at their employment site. All of the subjects listed on this page can be tailored to fit your lunch break - one hour or less in length.

PTA Liaison

  • Organize parent educators at the local level into a team.
  • Help them target the needs of their PTA and the parents in their school.
  • Help them develop and implement an action plan to serve those needs.
  • Provide technical assistance when setting up a parent center on a campus.
  • Present parenting seminars during PTA meetings.
  • Organize district-wide parenting seminars or events.
