Attention Special Education Parents

The Garland Independent School District hereby notifies the public of its intention to destroy special education records of non-active students for the 2002-2003 school year after October 1, 2010.

These records are no longer needed to provide educational services. A permanent record of the student’s participation in special education will be maintained. Anyone wanting to maintain copies of the aforementioned records should contact Babetta Hemphill no later than October 1, 2010.

We wish to remind parents that the records may be needed by the child or the parents for social security benefits or other purposes. Thank you!

Special Education Resource Services (SERS)

What is SERS?Special Education

SERS is a Federally funded program that provides special education teachers with materials and equipment to better meet the individual needs of their students.

Where is SERS?

SERS is located on the second floor of the Harris Hill building.  The address is 501 South Jupiter, Garland, TX  75042.

Who can use SERS?

Teachers who serve students with special needs may make their requests through their supervisors.  Teachers are encouraged to visit SERS to see what is currently available for immediate checkout.

When is SERS open?

Monday through Thursday

8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Friday

8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
