Title II, Part A
Teacher and Principal Training and Recruiting
Title II provides supplemental funding to improve the academic achievement of all students by assisting schools and school districts in areas related to improving teacher and principal quality as well as ensuring that all teachers are “highly qualified.” The program funds mentors for new teachers, staff development, and some tuition reimbursement programs. In addition, twenty-one Class Size Reduction (CSR) teachers are currently funded at middle school campuses working with students in English language arts areas. Class Size Reduction (CSR) seeks to accomplish exactly that; reduce the number of students in a given classroom to improve the student academic performance.
