Enrollment Process
All students with a home language other than English must begin the enrollment process at the Garland ISD Student Services Enrollment Center located at 720 Stadium Drive in Garland.
Students in grades Pre-K through 5 with a home language of English may enroll directly at the neighborhood school.
Students in grades 6-12 with a home language of English and enrolling into a campus that is closed to enrollment outside of their walk or transportation zones due to capacity must begin the enrollment process at the Student Services Enrollment Center, located at 720 Stadium Drive in Garland.
The following campuses are closed to enrollment outside of their walk or transportation zones, due to capacity:
Grades 9-12
Garland High School
Rowlett High School
Sachse High School
South Garland High School
Grades 6-8
Austin Academy for Excellence
Classical Center at Brandenburg
Coyle Middle School
Hudson Middle School
Jackson Technology Center
Schrade Middle School
Webb Middle School
Students in grades 6-12 with a home language of English and enrolling into a campus that is restricted to enrollment of students living in their walk or transportation areas due to capacity may enroll directly at the campus.
The following campuses are restricted to enroll only those students living in their walk or transportation zones due to capacity:
Lakeview Centennial High School
Naaman Forest High School
North Garland High School
Enrollment forms are available at each school or at the Student Services Center, 720 Stadium Drive. At the time of enrollment, parents will sign a choice of school form for their child(ren). Students who are eighteen years of age or older may sign their own form.
All students may be enrolled at the Student Services Center while schools are closed for summer break. Elementary Enrollments grades PK-5 will be handled in the Student Services offices beginning June 9 through August 1. All Secondary Enrollments for grades 6-12 will be handled in the Student Services Offices July 14-25.
Several Documents are needed to complete the enrollment process:
- Proof of Residency in GISD
- Contract/lease agreement or
- Most current utility bill (water, gas, or electric)
*Please note: If you are currently living with another person and the proof of residency is in that person’s name, both you and that person will need to sign a notarized affidavit. This can be done in the Student Services or Enrollment Center offices. - Birth Certificate
- Immunization records
- Social Security Card (if applicable)
- Recent Report Card
The Student Services Center Regular hours of operation are:
- Monday – Thursday 8:00 - 12:00 and 1:00 – 4:30
- Friday 8:00 – 12:00 and 1:00 – 4:00
The Student Services Center Summer hours of operation are:
Beginning June 9-August 1 2008 The Student Services Office will observe the following hours:
- Monday – Thursday 8:00-4:30
- Closed Fridays
