Technology Courses
Computer Explorations
Each middle school offers this elective which is designed to develop and enhance basic computer skills. Students learn keyboarding, networking concepts, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Internet research skills. The curriculum also includes projects that incorporate the skills of the programs learned.
Career and Technology Labs
Each high school has approximately 8 Career and Technology labs dedicated to teaching the curriculum for the appropriate course. These labs are designed to give students the best learning environment in which to learn the skills needed in the career areas such as Autocad, Business, Communication Graphics, Applied Technology etc.
Computer Science Labs
The Computer Science labs are labs dedicated to teaching computer programming languages such as Java. Students are engaged in learning the language through project based experiences. This prepares them to further their education in Computer Programming at the college level.
Web Mastering/Digital Graphics and Animation Labs
Each high school campus has one or two labs devoted to Web Mastering and/or Digital Graphics Animation classes. These labs feature professional level image editing and web page editing software. In one of these labs at each campus, there is a video-editing station for class and staff use.
