Town hall meeting set Oct. 22

Garland ISD will host a town hall meeting with physicians from the Dallas County Medical Society, answering community questions about Ebola.

The public is invited at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct.22, in the Curtis Culwell Center arena. For those unable to attend, the meeting will be recorded and rebroadcast on GRS-TV, the district website and district YouTube channel.

Message from the Superintendent


To Garland ISD Parents and Guardians:

It has been well publicized that a second healthcare worker was diagnosed with the Ebola virus and traveled on a flight from Cleveland to Dallas earlier this week. She was not showing any symptoms of the disease during her travel.

Today we learned the parents of four GISD students at two schools were aboard this plane with the healthcare worker. The campuses are North Garland High School and Schrade Middle School. Read more

Garland ISD will pay for all eighth, 10th and 11th-graders to take the ReadiStep and PSAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test beginning Oct. 15.
