Board Notes: December 6, 2007
Garland High School's Latin Heat Spanish dance team performed for GISD Trustees and administrators at Thursday night's Board meeting in the Harris Hill Administration Building.
Dance team members and sponsor Rebecca Butcher were awarded the School Board's Evidence of Excellence award for their hard work and dedication in representing the GISD.
Herfurth fifth-grader Sarah Pinckley and GISD parent Diane Cooley were also honored by the Board. Pinckley claimed first prize in this year's Holiday Greeting Card Contest while Cooley was honored for her recognition as Parent of the Year by the Texas Association for the Gifted and Talented.
The 2008-09 School Calendar was also approved.
