Board Notes: August 2, 2007
At the August 2nd School Board meeting, GISD Trustees:
- Approved minutes of June 21 and July 19 Board Meetings, and July 19 Work Session.
- Approved holding a public meeting at 6 p.m., Aug. 16, to discuss the Garland ISD’s budget for fiscal year 2007-08 and proposed tax rate.
- Approved tax refunds.
- Approved Final Amended Budget for 2006-07.
- Approved bids for purchase of e-mail filter and Groupwise monitoring; Thinking Maps, sole source; Temporary personnel services for Food Services (second year option); Toner and inkjet cartridges (second year option); Clinic supplies (warehoused, second year option); Magazine subscription service (second year option); Special Education instructional materials (catalog, second year option); Office supplies (warehoused, second year option); Technology wiring for moves, adds and changes (increase in price); Leased warehouse space service; Asphalt subgrade and sealcoat service (second year option).
- Approved endorsement of candidate Mary Beth King (Plano ISD) to TASB Board of Directors.
- Reviewed Legal Board Policies included in TASB update.
- Reviewed Board Committee and Board Organization appointments.
- Submitted future agenda topics.
