Board Notes: July 19, 2007

At the July 19th School Board meeting, GISD Trustees:

  • Approved Memorandum of Understanding between the District and Dallas County Juvenile Justice Alternative Education Program.
  • Approved waiver request to TEA for textbooks.
  • Approved bids for purchase of volleyball equipment and uniforms service; Video editing software; Upgrade, maintenance and programming, and total map realignment for the Trapeze Mapnet Software System; Printers and scanners; Books titled: “Classroom Instruction That Works;” Disaster recovery software and implementation (maintenance only, second year option); Translation and interpretation services (third year option); Student accident insurance (third year option); Library supplies (catalog, third year option).
  • Approved a Joint Use Agreement between GISD and the City of Garland.
  • Approved bid for grease trap replacement for Memorial Preparatory School.
  • Approved revisions to Board Policy CH (local) on second reading.
  • Reviewed April, May and June 2007 tax reports.
  • Reviewed June 20, 2007 Quarterly Report submitted to Judge Jerry Buchmeyer.
  • Submitted future agenda topics.
  • Heard report from Student Services and School Choice.
  • Received overview of 2007-08 budget.
