Led by head coach Derik Short, the Ranger Ladies recently completed one of the best years on record in the storied athletic history of Garland ISD, finishing the 2007-08 season with a 30-7 record in Austin at the Class 5A State Basketball Tournament.
Naaman Forest amassed 2,237 points on the season, defeating opponents by more than 10 points per contest. In the team’s 30 wins, the margin-of-victory was almost 20 points per game.

Their trip to Austin marked the first time in GISD history that any basketball team – boys or girls – traveled to the state basketball tournament and their 30 wins marks the most in school history.
