GISD Trustees approved two administrative appointments at Thursday night's board meeting, held in the Harris Hill Administration Building. Celia Najera will take over as principal at Cisneros PreK and Deborah Henson will assume the same duties at Daugherty ES.
In other agenda items, Trustees:
- Accepted certified tax roll
- Heard the 2008-09 budget update
- Heard an evaluation of the Compensatory Education Home
Instruction (CEHI) Waiver - Reviewed Calendar of Events
- Discussed future agenda items
- Approved minutes of July 24, 2008 board meeting
- Approved dual credit agreement with Dallas County Community College District (DCCCD)
- Approved a public meeting to discuss the district's budget for fiscal year 2008-09 and proposed tax rate
- Approved tax refunds
- Approved the final 2007-08 amended budget
- Approved purchase of Hewlett Package cabinets and services; wireless video systems for buses; Groupwise management solution; grounds maintenance equipment; remote audience response systems; special education instructional materials (catalog); e-mail filter and Groupwise monitoring system.
- Approved air conditioning replacement at three campuses
- Approved Board Policy FM (LOCAL) on second reading
