Final Voting Day Nears For School Board Elections

The final opportunity for voters to cast a ballot in the Garland ISD school board elections is this Saturday, May 10. Place 4 on the Board of Trustees – a spot vacated through the recent death of longtime member Rick Howard – is up for election.
The three-year term is being sought after by Cindy Castaneda, Jeff Johnson and Stephen Stanley. Castaneda is an administrator at Richland College, Johnson is president of J&A Manufacturing, and Stanley is a local real estate agent.
Polls will be open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. The official canvas of votes will take place at 5 p.m. Monday, May 19, at the Harris Hill Administration Building.
