Two of the district's outstanding campuses were recognized for their educational accomplishments with Evidence of Excellence awards at last night's school board meeting in the Harris Hill Adminstration Building.
Centerville Elementary received the nod for being named a 2008 No Child Left Behind Blue Ribbon School, the highest honor given by the U.S. Department of Education. Only 320 schools nationwide earned this commendation for academic superiority.
Beaver Technology Center was also honored after being named a finalist for the National Title I Distinguished Schools Award last week. National Title I recognizes sustained academic improvement despite economic challenges. Only six schools in Texas met the requirements for eligibility.
