Austin Academy for Excellence, Beaver Technology Center for Math and Science, Hillside Academy for Excellence, Kimberlin Academy for Excellence, Vial Elementary, Walnut Glen Academy for Excellence and Watson Technology Center were among a select group of fewer than four percent of Texas public schools placed on the honor roll. Beaver, Hillside, Kimberlin and Walnut Glen are all repeat winners from last year.

To be considered for the honor roll, schools must have demonstrated three years of consistent, high performance in all subjects compared to other schools serving similar student populations. Each will be recognized Nov. 10 in San Antonio at the annual TBEC Awards Reception and Dinner.

Established in 1989, TBEC was formed by Texas business leaders to engage with educators in a long-term effort of improving public education in the state. TBEC seeks to secure the future of Texas by assisting with performance improvement of the state’s publicly funded education systems.
