GISD Trustees approved the final amended budget for 2008-09 and the new budget for 2009-10 at the school board meeting Thursday night in the Harris Hill Administration Building.

The new school year tax rate was also approved. Numbers included:

2009-10 budget
Interest & Sinking Fund - $37,538,883
Maintenance and Operations – $377,252,210
Food Service – $24,592,000
Total – $439,383,093

2009-10 tax rate
Interest and Sinking – $.2133
Maintenance and Operations – $1.04
Total – $1.2533
