Trustees were recognized for their hard work and dedication at Thursday night’s board meeting as Garland ISD celebrated School Board Appreciation in the Harris Hill Administration Building.
Students from across the district submitted posters, letters and signs expressing their thanks for the time and effort Trustees donate to making the GISD educational experience all that it can be. Members of the Association of Texas Professional Educators and Texas State Teachers Association also presented board members with gift bags.
Superintendent Curtis Culwell also recognized Leadership Garland. The city’s mentor program annually attends GISD events. This is the group’s 28th class.

- Approved purchase of paint and sundry items; new school buses; general trades, maintenance merchandise, equipment and supplies; general trades, transportation merchandise, equipment and supplies; general trades, career and technology merchandise, equipment and supplies; VIRCO classroom furniture; concrete and asphalt subgrade and sealcoat paving (second-year option); cable locating services for the Metropolitan Area Network (second-year option).
