The 2009-10 Garland ISD Calendar was approved by Trustees at last night’s school board meeting in the Harris Hill Administration Building. School is set to begin Aug. 24 while the last class day is June 3.
Trustees also recognized winning campuses of this year’s canned food drive. GISD holds the contest each year in conjunction with the Garland Christmas Association. Campuses are divided into elementary, middle and high school grade levels where one winner is declared from each group.
Winning campuses were Sachse High School, Memorial Middle School and Montclair Elementary School.
