Garland ISD Trustees were treated to an in-depth report on the Kuder Career Planning System at Thursday night's board meeting in the Harris Hill Administration Building.

Kuder – which is new to GISD this year – offers middle and high school students the opportunity to assess their interests, skills and work values through different assessments on the internet. Counselors from Career and Technical Education or a student's campus can be consulted for more information.

  • Approved purchase of teaching aids; medical supplies and equipment (catalog, third-year option); computer workstations (third-year option); achievement and ability testing (second-year option); technology wiring for moves, adds and changes (increase in award)
  • Approved revisions to local board policies included in TASB Update 84 on second reading
