GISD Receives Community Partnership Award From Garland Chamber

Dr. Curtis Culwell was recognized with the City of Garland’s 2009 Community Partnership Award at last week’s Chamber of Commerce luncheon. Culwell, the Superintendent of Schools for Garland ISD, accepted the award on behalf of the school district.

“Dr. Culwell, we are honored to present you and GISD with this award,” said Mark King, president and CEO of Micropac Industries and current president of the chamber. “The focus and energy that you do in preparing the next generation is critical. It is so important to recognize your efforts.”
The Garland Chamber of Commerce presents the annual award to a group that impacts the overall economic viability of community through support and education.
GISD school board member Dr. Cindy Castaneda was also present to help accept the award.
