Employee clinic

With healthcare costs on the rise, we offer an affordable and convenient resource to our employees. All full-time staff members, as well as their spouses and legal dependents over the age of 2, are invited to take advantage of the district’s Employee Clinic.

The clinic offers $10 visits regardless of insurance. While not designed to replace primary care providers, physician assistants will treat minor illnesses—sore throat, earache, sinuses, etc.

All minors need to be accompanied by an adult, and anyone 18 or older must present an ID during check-in. If a parent or guardian is unable to accompany their child, they may send an authorized representative as long as the clinic has a Patient Information form filled out by them. See the Registration Documents section for all forms.

What does it cost to visit the clinic?

A $10 clinic fee.

Do I need to carry GISD insurance to visit the clinic?

No. Insurance is not required. And, since the clinic does not file with insurance, the fee will not count toward a deductible.

Can employees use a medical reimbursement account to pay the $10 fee?

Yes. Clinic fees are allowable expenses.

How will the clinic verify employees’ spouses and dependents?

GISD employees must list their spouses and dependents in Oracle. Upon visiting the clinic, employees can present their ID badge for personal treatment. Spouses and dependents will be looked up in Oracle by clinic staff.

What kind of services will be offered at the clinic?

The clinic will treat minor illnesses, such as sore throats, earaches or sinuses. It is not designed to replace primary care providers.

Are there age restrictions for children?

Legal dependents aged 2-26 are welcome. Children under the age of 2 should see their pediatrician due to required immunizations.

Does having access to the clinic mean I now have insurance coverage?

No. Last year’s introduction of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) required you to have health insurance for yourself and your dependents. Access to the GISD Employee Clinic will not satisfy the ACA requirement.

What type of doctor will I see at the clinic?

A physician assistant will be on duty at all times. Physician assistants are state-licensed and nationally certified medical professionals who complete six or more years of healthcare education. The physician assistant will be under the direction of a licensed physician.
