As a nine-time Best Communities for Music Education honoree, Garland ISD's Fine Arts program is recognized as one of the nation's best. Now the community has an opportunity to see GISD's award-winning talent at the 41st annual Band Festival Monday, Oct. 8.
Do not miss your chance to enjoy performances by 19 middle and high school bands starting at 6:30 p.m. at Homer B. Johnson Stadium. Seven high school bands will perform their UIL competition shows, while 12 middle school bands perform two selections each.
“This annual festival is a marvelous opportunity to showcase the hard work of all of the band students in the district,” said Director of Visual and Performing Arts Geroge Jones.
Tickets cost $4 and benefit GISD band programs. They can be purchased from any band student before the event or at the gate Oct. 8. In the event of a rainout, tickets are nonrefundable.
