Community invited to review superintendent search leadership profile

Garland ISD and the Board of Trustees would like to thank district staff and families, as well as business, clergy and community members, for participating in the superintendent search process. Precious time volunteered for six public forums, 21 focus groups and 2,649 online survey responses was essential to create the leadership profile for GISD’s new superintendent.

All stakeholders are now invited to review that profile at a special board meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 7, in the Harris Hill Administration Building. HYA Executive Search, the firm managing the district's pursuit, will present a breakdown of the leadership profile developed by community voices.

“One of the promises we made to you and our three cities was that you would get to see the words you gave us, and you would get to see the results of those presentations,” said President Larry Glick at the July 25 board meeting. “Thank you very much. We will continue keeping you informed.”

The meeting will be streamed live on the district website at An archived video of the meeting will also be available online the next day.
