Earth Day is an annual event held to demonstrate and promote environmental awareness and calls for the protection of our planet.

This free celebration runs 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Garland Recycling Center.

  • animal encounters
  • toilet races
  • live music
  • recycling center tours
  • native wildflower planting
  • free electronics recycling
  • free paper shredding*

* Free shredding provided for Garland residents. Limit of 4 Boxes per household.


Participate in one of the competitions for a chance to win prizes:

  • Recycled Art for grades K-6
  • Eco-Apparel for grades 7-12
  • Upcycling for adults age 18 or older

Keep Garland Beautiful

Participate in the Spring Trash-Off at 8 a.m. at 1500 State Highway 66. Free trash bags and gloves will be provided.
