FAFSA/TASFA application window open

Thursday, October 1, 2020

Students, mark your calendars: FAFSA and TASFA applications can be submitted beginning Oct. 1.  If you are interested in attending a college or university and need financial aid, make sure to apply.  Families can use their 2019 income and tax information to apply.

Check the FAFSA and TASFA website at studentaid.gov/fafsa and with your intended colleges for deadline information.

What is FAFSA and TASFA?

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) helps current and prospective college students know if they can get financial aid. Apply as early as possible to improve your chances of getting the most grant, scholarship, and work-study aid.

The Texas Application for State and Financial Aid (TASFA) helps foreign students and non-citizens learn if they can be classified as Texas residents for tuition purposes, which could make them eligible for state or institutional financial aid.
