Garland ISD held its annual signing day ceremony Feb. 6 at the Curtis Culwell Center, recognizing more than 70 student-athletes who have committed to play sports in college. Sarah Davis, former Southern Methodist University stand-out soccer player and current head coach of the North Garland High School varsity girls’ soccer team, offered words of advice to the honorees during the ceremony.
The districtwide event was a culmination of countless hours of dedication, determination, and practice put in by the athletes to reach this goal.
“What a huge accomplishment for all of you,” Davis said. “You are the best of the best in Garland ISD. You are true leaders in your school and in the community. You know what it means to be a scholar athlete in the classroom and on the field. We are so happy to be able to honor you on this awesome day.”
