Garland ISD held its inaugural Wellness EXPO Feb. 9 at Naaman Forest High School. The event, sponsored by GISD’s Coordinated School Health Program, was a free family-friendly event with the goal of promoting health and wellness throughout the district's tri-cities. Attendees were treated to information on health and wellness, nutrition and mental health from over 50 local businesses and Garland ISD departments. Numerous free screenings were also available such as blood glucose, blood cholesterol, vision, spine, body composition and more. Other offerings included low-cost vaccinations, jumbo games, shooting hoops with high school students and raffle prizes.
