iPads for high school students start rolling out this fall

As the world changes with new technology, scientific advancements and cutting-edge careers, Garland ISD believes education must change with it. The district's Strategic Plan calls for providing all secondary students a digital device, and in 2014, voters passed GISD's bond election, which included this proposal.

Rolling out this fall, Ready 1:1 equips high schools students with a personal iPad. The initiative starts powering up:

  • Sept. 12-16 - Garland High School
  • Sept. 19-23 – Naaman Forest and Rowlett high schools
  • Sept. 26-30 – Lakeview Centennial and North Garland high schools
  • Oct. 3-7 – Sachse and South Garland high schools
  • Oct. 10-12 – Memorial Pathway Academy
  • Oct. 13-17 – Pathfinder Achievement Center
  • Oct. 18-20 – Alternative Education Center
