Life planning for families of special needs

The GISD Special Education Department presents, “Planning for your child’s future is not a game!” Hear important information to think about before and after age 18 for your child’s future financial security.

This workshop is for transition specialists, parents, caregivers, educators and anyone who services special needs children of any age.  You can never start too early and it is never too late to get the information you need.

Presented by Life Planning for Families of Special Needs, this presentation will focus on the Achieving a Better Life Experience Act or the ABLE Act. The Texas Achieving a Better Life Experience (“Texas ABLE®”) Program was established to encourage and assist individuals with disabilities and their families in saving funds to pay for many disability-related expenses critical to maintaining the individuals’ health, independence, and quality of life.
