National School Lunch Week
Created by John F. Kennedy in 1962, National School Lunch Week highlights the importance of a healthy school lunch and how it helps inside and outside of the classroom. This year the theme is “School Lunch: What’s on Your Playlist?" This year’s theme plugs into increased choice in cafeteria menus, similar to how students choose music.
The goal of this week is to challenge students and staff to try new foods offered in the cafeteria. We also challenge you to take your student’s love of music and help connect the dots of how eating healthy meals at school improves their lives.
Campuses across GISD are celebrating with a variety of activities. Check with your campus for details on special menu items and theme days.
