National Suicide Prevention Week
We want to dispel the stigma of mental illness and help prevent suicide through National Suicide Prevention Week.
Join us and Guidance and Counseling in raising awareness about suicide prevention and in spreading the message that #YouMatter. #GarlandUSA #Bethelight
National Suicide Prevention Week is a part of Suicide Prevention Month.
Participate in the conversation about mental health each day:
- Sept. 6: Learn the signs of suicidal thoughts
Talking about death, hopelessness, guilt, sleep issues, withdrawal, saying goodbye, giving things away.
- Sept. 7: Save the numbers
Suicide Lifeline: 1-800-273-TALK (8255) or text HOME to 741741.
- Sept. 8: Start a conversation
Reach out to someone and tell them you care and are here for them. See afsp.org/RealConvo
- Sept. 9: Care for yourself
Try mindfulness, exercise, get sleep, eat well. See afsp.org/KeepGoing
- Sept. 10: Raise awareness
