National Suicide Prevention Week

Monday, September 9, 2019 to Friday, September 13, 2019

#GarlandUSA is joining other local school districts in dispelling the stigma of mental illness and helping prevent suicide through National Suicide Prevention Week. Join us and Guidance and Counseling in raising awareness about suicide prevention for our You Matter: suicide prevention initiative and spread the message that #youmatter.

Get involved

Follow the daily activities to show your support.

Monday: Give everyone a "green light" to get help by wearing green to promote mental wellness and destigmatize mental health.

Tuesday: Wear red to highlight the importance of knowing the red flags, or warning signs, of suicide.

Wednesday: Show "the future is bright" by wearing neon colors. #myfutureisbright

Thursday: Team up against suicide by wearing your favorite team apparel.

Friday: Let's show we are one community by wearing school spirit shirts.

Contact your campus counselor to learn more about where to get help.

Learn the warning signs of suicide and you might save a life.
