SPED sessions

Our Special Education department is hosting a variety of workshops covering topics designed to provide helpful information to our families and promote success. 

Virtual Parent University

Our "Things to do in 2022" session is scheduled for Jan. 11 and will cover important information and tasks for the second semester. A video with Spanish and Vietnamese captions will be available after each event.

Council of PTA seminars

The Garland ISD Council of PTAs holds learning events for parents in our community. The next event is scheduled for Jan. 20 and will cover Human Trafficking.

We offer workshops throughout the year with effective parenting strategies, ideas on how to get more involved and information to help your child be successful in school and in life.

Past workshops have included topics such as:

  • testing in schools
  • motivating children
  • cybersafety
  • substance abuse
  • anger management
  • language and literacy
  • understanding school systems
  • helping your child with school
  • using school technology
