At a special meeting on February 14, the Garland ISD Board of Trustees approved calling for a bond election. Garland ISD Education Foundation Awards 200 Grants and Scholarships Totaling $230,063
The Garland ISD Education Foundation has awarded 200 grants and scholarships to teachers and staff across the district, totaling $230,063. The grants and scholarships were awarded to a wide variety of educators, all of whom had submitted proposals outlining their ideas and plans for improving classroom lessons and furthering their education.

Brother Surprises Freeman Elementary Student with Holiday Homecoming
Nico Torres, a third grader at Freeman Elementary, had an unexpected visit at school. With the help of his mom, teacher, and campus principal, Nico's brother, who's in the U.S. Army, got to surprise him at school and tell him he'll be home for Christmas!
