Magnet Programs

Our magnet programs provide specialized instruction in particular areas of interest. (Magnet application required. Learn more about GISD magnet programs and the application process.)

Air Force Junior ROTC

  • Educates and trains high school cadets in the areas of leadership, community service, teamwork, communication, responsibility, personal accountability and character.
  • PE credit is awarded for participation.
  • No commitment to the military.

No testing or grading requirements necessary. Additional application materials will be required within the magnet application.

Early College High School with Eastfield College (ECHS)

  • Earn up to 60 college hours or an Associate of Arts or an Associate of Science degree.
  • Electives offered in drama and social work.
  • Be in a cohort with 125 students in a dedicated section of the building.

  • Associate of Applied Science in interactive simulation and game technology
  • Associate of Applied Science in software programming and developing

    • Earn up to 60 college hours or a degree.
    • Cohort groups foster accelerated learning and provide support to develop academic and social skills necessary for college completion.
