Pandemic Electronic Benefits Transfer (P-EBT) now open

Pandemic Electronic Benefits Transfer (P-EBT) is a one-time food benefit for families who lost access to free or reduced-price meals due to school closures. The application window is from June 1 - July 31.  P-EBT food benefits are for:

  • children who received SNAP food benefits for March 2020 

  • children who are certified for free or reduced-price school meals during the 2019-20 school year 

  • children who attend a school that offers free meals to all students (CEP or Provision 2)

  • Foster, migrant, homeless and runaway youths

  • Head Start participants

Community Eligibility Provision schools for 2020-21

We have updated the schools participating in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) program for the 2020-21 school year. You can find a list of the participating schools on our Free and Reduced-Price Meal page or the CEP Letter to Households.

All schools not listed under CEP will require the Free and reduced-price meal application. Applications can be submitted starting on August 1.  Find additional information in the Free and reduced-price meal application document.

Grab-and-go meal pickup process

Meals will be served Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.  Meals will be served grab-and-go from the cafeteria or designated locations. 

Please note: this is not curbside service. Student Nutrition Services staff will be wearing masks and maintaining social distancing standards. We recommend visitors wear masks when picking up grab-and-go meals.

There will be no food service during the week of June 29-July 3. Meal distribution will resume on July 6th and continue the schedule below until July 31st.

Monday (Two Meals Received)

  • Breakfast for Tuesday

Tuesday (Four Meals Received)

  • Hot Lunch for Tuesday
  • Lunch for Wednesday
  • Two Breakfasts

Thursday (Four Meals Received)

  • Hot Lunch for Thursday
  • Lunch for Friday
  • Two Breakfasts

What if I can't bring my child?

If it's not possible to bring your child at the meal pickup time, we ask that you present one of the following forms of ID for the child:

  • A student report card for each child not present (does not have to be a GISD report card)
  • A student ID card (does not have to be an ID from GISD)
  • A birth certificate
    • Children under the age of 5 who are not enrolled in a school district may use a birth certificate to request meals. 

Verification will only be required one time. Once verification has occurred, you will be given a SNS verification document to present at future meal pickups.

Parents can also use a completed SNS Car Tag received during curbside meals to pick up summer meals.
