Superintendent Bob Morrison delivers State of the District address

“Reaching the future by driving excellence” highlights the banner of the Milestone Roadmap that details many of the district’s accomplishments over the past three years. Garland ISD Superintendent Bob Morrison is on the road in the tri-cities, delivering the State of the District address to staff and community using this interactive map that details the district’s journey of success.

Dr. Morrison spoke Sept. 26 at the Garland Chamber of Commerce luncheon, where guests received a copy of the road map with pictures and QR codes to access additional information about each milestone.

“People ask what the district has been doing, what kinds of programs are available to help our students,” he said. “I truly believe that when you hear some of the things that we are doing, you will see some amazing accomplishments.”

“We are three years into our five-year Strategic Plan,” he continued. “We have accomplished 75-percent of the plan. So we are right on track with what we need to be doing.”

Dr. Morrison also emphasized the Ready 1:1 initiative with iPads for secondary students, the 2014 Bond, and multiple college and career readiness initiatives in the district.

Dr. Morrison will speak next at the Sachse Chamber of Commerce on Oct. 11.
