Your partnership makes #GarlandUSA stronger

Building strong community-school partnerships is vital to student success. Whether you join a PTA, volunteer at a campus, donate to the Garland ISD Education Foundation, serve on a district committee, or develop a service project, you can make an impact in one of the nation’s finest districts. And, you don’t have to be a GISD parent or guardian to make life-changing waves. All community members can get involved.

Without our public’s participation, this summer's Community Input Summit and focus group sessions would not have seen success. The valuable feedback obtained from hundreds of students, staff and community members is essential to our district’s bright future. We sincerely thank the participants who gave up some of their precious time to help us in our ambitious decision-making efforts.

If you missed these opportunities to give your two cents, no need to worry. There are plenty of other ways for you to stay involved and informed throughout the year. Check out upcoming events, important information and intriguing news on our district website. Get daily updates by following us on Twitter and Facebook: @gisdnews and @gisdnoticias. See a 21st-century classroom by booking a campus tour at your neighborhood school. Or, celebrate our talented students at a football game, theater performance, academic competition, art exhibit and more district functions.

Becoming a #GarlandUSA ally is easy. Considering the variety of ways you can connect with us, the next step might be the hardest: figuring out how you want to make a difference this year. Why wait? We welcome your partnership in any capacity today.

With your support, you are not only impacting the future generation. You are enriching the three cities and thousands of community members that make one powerful district. Together, we can strengthen Garland ISD and continue our legacy of being a great place to live, work and learn. For more information on how to get involved, contact GISD’s Family & Community Engagement Department at 972-487-4521 or
