Students, staff successfully start 2018-19 with high energy
Campuses across the district kicked off #GarlandISD1stDay with cheers, hugs and fun décor Aug. 20.
Staff welcomed thousands of families to Garland ISD’s 72 campuses, greeting them with open arms, high-fives and photo ops. Parents, grandparents and siblings accompanied students to classrooms, meeting new teachers, principals and assistant principals along the way.
Annual Health Fair and Back-to-School Rally a hit with families
Garland ISD’s community recently came together to help district students get ready for the 2018-19 school year. On Aug. 11, GISD partnered with the NAACP Garland Unit to host the 16th annual Health Fair and Back-to-School Rally at the Curtis Culwell Center. Thousands of district students received free school supplies and clothing. Even more received free health screenings, low-cost immunizations and information about GISD and community resources.
