TechFest promises fun, prizes, information

Enjoy a free night of family fun at GISD’s second-annual technology event. Formerly named Digital Resources Carnival, TechFest features interactive and innovative instructional tools, tips to stay safe online, virtual reality activities, programmable robots and much more.

GEF, community partners reward staff

The Garland ISD Education Foundation (GEF) started the giving season early, surprising dozens of staff members with grants and scholarships in November. The GEF Prize Posse delivered $35,000 in grants and $12,000 in scholarships to teachers and paraprofessionals during its fall blitz.

GISD students accept Joy Maker Challenge

Spreading joy by serving others, students at Parsons Prekindergarten School and Pathfinder Achievement Center donated bags of brand new toys to Hope’s Door New Beginning Center (HDNBC) Dec. 13.

Shorehaven ES serves Garland community

Students from Shorehaven Elementary School spread holiday cheer throughout the community this December. The campus’ K-Kids club donated and delivered gifts to multiple senior centers in Garland.

December ConnectEd now available online

Four times a year, Garland ISD publishes its ConnectEd newsletter, which chronicles the accomplishments of students and staff. The December edition will pilot a new distribution method.
