Brandenburg Honors Band earns national award

The Classical Center at Brandenburg Middle School was named a winner in the 2017 Mark of Excellence/National Wind Band Honors project. More than 275 of the nation’s finest middle and high school ensembles entered this competition by submitting recordings.

Tucked away in the halls of Garland High School is one of the area's oldest high school film programs and possibly the state’s first International Baccalaureate one. While some may not realize Reel Owl Cinema's prestige, Texas educators and industry professionals count it as a premier example of student filmmaking.

GISD Fine Arts receives national recognition

Garland ISD received its seventh Best Communities for Music Education designation from the National Association of Music Merchants Foundation in 2016, joining an elite group of just 476 districts recognized nationwide.
