Garland HS students win breakfast with Dallas Cowboy

Breakfast is believed to be the most important meal of the day, and Garland ISD wants to make sure its students start their mornings off right. The district , in partnership with Dairy Max and Fuel Up To Play 60 , recently challenged all high school students to eat breakfast in the cafeteria every day for one month. The prize for the campus with the most participation? A visit from the Dallas Cowboys.

Student craftsmanship impresses state legislators

Garland ISD recently made its mark on the state capitol through an impressive showing of Career and Technical Education. Students, teachers, board members and Interim Superintendent Deborah Cron gifted handcrafted clocks to state legislators as part of the Garland Chamber of Commerce Legislative Day Feb. 15.

Reel Owl Cinema graduates students into the field of filmmaking

Tucked away in the halls of Garland High School is one of the area's oldest high school film programs and possibly the state’s first International Baccalaureate one. While some may not realize Reel Owl Cinema's prestige, Texas educators and industry professionals count it as a premier example of student filmmaking.
