In Garland ISD, it pays to get good grades. Hundreds of district students are receiving thousands of dollars for the third-consecutive year as part of the National Math & Science Initiative (NMSI) College Readiness Program. Awarding students $100 per passing AP score, more than 900 students across GISD's seven high schools will receive $140,700 collectively this year. Campuses are celebrating honorees with pep rallies in October and November, complete with giant checks, special cheers and school spirit.
